Djamila Ribeiro holds a Master's Degree in Political Philosophy from the Federal University of São Paulo. She is Editor of the "Plural Feminisms" Collection and author of "Lugar de Fala", at Pólen Livros; "Who's Afraid of Black Feminism?" and "Little Antiracist Manual", both at Companhia das Letras. She is a columnist for the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo and considered by the BBC as one of the 100 most influential women in the world. She won the Jabuti Award in the Humanities category in 2020.
Yara Frateschi is Professor of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy of Unicamp, researcher at CNPq and co-editor of the Blog Women in Philosophy.
The Brazilian Women Philosophers / Filósofas Brasileiras series is promoted by the Extending New Narratives in Philosophy and by the Brazilian Network of Women Philosophers. With curation by Carolina Araújo and Carmel Ramos, both at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), the series invites intellectuals to present the ideas of prominent Brazilian Women Philosophers. Focused on the author's concepts and arguments, the videos intend to show the importance of reading her works and introducing them in the academic curriculum.
Djamila Ribeiro é Mestre em Filosofia Política pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo e coordenadora da Coleção Feminismos Plurais. É autora de "Lugar de Fala", pela Pólen Livros; "Quem tem medo do Feminismo Negro?" e "Pequeno Manual Antirracista", ambos pela Companhia das Letras. É colunista do jornal Folha de S. Paulo e considerada pela BBC como uma das 100 mulheres mais influentes do mundo. Foi vencedora do Prêmio Jabuti na categoria Ciências Humanas em 2020.
